What makes Audi windshields different?

The same Audi model can have several windshield versions depending on its options. Miss one feature and you can end up with a doubled HUD image, auto wipers that don't work or a camera that won't calibrate, so we check your VIN first.

Front camera
Audi pre sense and lane assist use a camera mounted to the glass behind the mirror. The bracket and viewing area have to match exactly.
Head-up display
Select Audis project speed and navigation onto the windshield. HUD glass has a wedge-shaped layer so the image stays sharp and single.
Acoustic & solar glass
Many Audis use acoustic glass for a quiet cabin and solar-coated glass to cut heat, a big deal in Arizona.
Rain & light sensor
Your auto wipers and headlights read through the windshield. We reinstall the sensor with the right gel pad.

Most newer Audis have Audi pre sense front and active lane assist, and many add adaptive cruise assist. The front camera at the top of the windshield works with radar at the front of the car.

After a windshield replacement, the camera has to be recalibrated so these systems see the road the way Audi designed them to.

Depending on the model, an Audi camera is recalibrated with targets in our shop or on a road drive. Our technicians run a pre-scan, calibrate with Autel equipment and run a post-scan before you leave.

Active lane assist
Helps steer you back if you start to drift out of your lane.
Adaptive cruise assist

Insurance

Does insurance cover a Audi windshield?

If you have comprehensive coverage, your Audi windshield replacement may be covered, minus your deductible. When recalibration is required, it's normally part of the same claim.

We set up a three-way call with your insurance company and help you file the claim. Paying out of pocket? You'll get a clear quote that includes the glass and the recalibration.

Does my Audi need camera recalibration after a windshield replacement?

Yes, if it has a front camera for Audi pre sense or lane assist. We recalibrate it in house and confirm it with a post-scan.

Can you replace an Audi windshield with a head-up display?

Yes. We order HUD-specific glass for Audis with a head-up display so the image stays sharp and single.

Will my automatic wipers still work?

Yes. We reinstall your rain and light sensor with the right gel pad so the auto wipers and headlights work like before.

Can I get mobile windshield replacement for my Audi?

Yes, at your home or office with covered parking. If your Audi needs a static calibration with targets, that part is done in our shop; we'll plan it with you when you book.

Can you repair a chip instead of replacing the windshield?

Often, yes. If the chip on your Audi is no bigger than a quarter, we can usually repair it in our shop: $79 for the first chip and $30 for each additional chip. Chip repairs are in-shop only.

Is there a warranty on my new Audi windshield?

Yes. Every windshield we install comes with our lifetime warranty on parts and workmanship.
