Which Tesla windshield is right for you?

Quality options. Honest recommendations.

Genuine Tesla OEM glass and premium aftermarket glass from manufacturers like FYG are both good choices for your Tesla. Some owners want original factory glass; others prefer a more affordable option. Availability can also make the decision for you.

Whichever you choose, we install it the same way and follow the camera calibration procedure your model requires. We'll explain the options, pricing and availability for your Tesla so you can make an informed decision.

Tesla camera calibration & Autopilot

Your Tesla's cameras matter just as much as its glass

Tesla vehicles rely on cameras near the windshield for Autopilot, lane assistance and collision avoidance. After a windshield replacement, we follow the calibration procedure for your model and year.

  • Diagnostic scans

We scan your Tesla before and after the installation, so we know the condition it arrived in and confirm its systems afterward.

  • Camera pitch verification

We set up Tesla's Camera Calibration Target, using the height markers for your model, and verify the forward cameras' pitch and angle.

  • Pitch adjustment when needed

If the camera pitch is outside Tesla's range, our technicians adjust it following the applicable service procedure.

  • Calibration reset & driving calibration

When it applies, we reset the camera calibration so your Tesla completes its calibration while driving. Tesla says this typically completes after about 20–25 miles in suitable conditions.

Our Tesla story

Arizona's Tesla glass specialists since the Deer Valley days

  1. 01

    Tesla Called Us for Help

When Tesla was establishing its service presence in the Phoenix Valley, one of its early service locations operated near Deer Valley Airpark. At the time, a Tesla service manager found Blue Chip Auto Glass through Yelp and contacted us for assistance replacing windshields on first-generation Model S vehicles experiencing known warranty-related cracking issues. Tesla supplied the replacement glass, and our technicians performed the installations.

  2. 02

    Tesla sends us customers

Tesla's own service teams refer Tesla owners to us. Arizona glass shops without Tesla experience send us referrals too, and ask us for help with Tesla installations.

  3. 03

We fix what others get wrong

We regularly clean up other companies' mistakes, from missing fasteners and trim to a Model 3 windshield installed in a Model Y (yes, it happened), and get those Teslas back on the road with the right parts.

  • Explaining your OEM and aftermarket glass choices
  • Coordinating any approvals your insurer requires
  • Tesla Insurance: for eligible claims, we work with your adjuster and bill Tesla Insurance using your claim number
  • Scheduling once your glass is in and has passed inspection

Questions

Tesla glass replacement FAQ

Proudly serving Tesla drivers throughout Maricopa County. See our service areas.

Call (602) 885-5330
How much does Tesla windshield replacement cost?

It depends on your model and year, whether you choose OEM or aftermarket glass, and the calibration your Tesla needs. If you have comprehensive or full glass coverage, your insurance may cover most or all of it. Request a quote with your VIN and we'll give you an exact price.

Can I use an independent glass shop instead of a Tesla Service Center?

Yes. You can choose any qualified glass shop for your Tesla's glass. We've been replacing Tesla glass in Arizona since Tesla's early Deer Valley Airpark days, and we handle the camera calibration as part of the job.

Does my Tesla need camera calibration after windshield replacement?

Yes. Depending on the model and year, that can include diagnostic scans, camera pitch verification with Tesla's Camera Calibration Target, a pitch adjustment if needed, and a calibration reset so the car completes its calibration while driving (Tesla says this typically takes about 20–25 miles). Some features may be unavailable until calibration is complete.

Is aftermarket Tesla glass a good option?

Yes, premium aftermarket glass from established manufacturers like FYG can be a good, more affordable option. Genuine Tesla OEM glass is the choice for owners who want original factory glass. Either way, we follow the calibration procedure your model requires, and we'll explain the options for your Tesla.

Does insurance cover Tesla windshield replacement?

Usually, under the comprehensive part of your policy. Arizona drivers can add optional zero-deductible full glass coverage, so whether you pay a deductible depends on your policy. We'll check your coverage with your insurer on a three-way call.

Do you work with Tesla Insurance?

Yes. For eligible claims, give us your Tesla Insurance claim number and we'll work with your adjuster and bill Tesla Insurance directly for the covered work.

How much experience does Blue Chip have with Teslas?

We've been replacing Tesla glass since Tesla's early days in the Valley, when a Tesla service manager near Deer Valley Airpark found us and asked us to install windshields on first-generation Model S cars. Today Tesla's own service teams and other Arizona glass shops refer Tesla owners to us.

Is my Tesla leased? Can you still replace the glass?

Yes. If your Tesla is leased, we install OEM glass and any parts your lease requires, so your car is ready to turn in correctly at the end of the lease. Let us know it's a lease when you request a quote.

How long does Tesla windshield replacement take?

It depends on the model, the glass and the calibration your Tesla needs. We'll give you an estimate when we book, and your technician will let you know when it's safe to drive.

Can you replace Tesla panoramic roof glass?

Yes. We replace Tesla glass roofs and panoramic roof glass, including the Model Y's one-piece roof and the Model 3's roof glass.

Do you keep Tesla glass in stock?

We receive OEM glass in bulk shipments from Tesla and keep an extensive stock in our Arizona warehouse. Manufacturer shortages can happen, so call to confirm availability for your model and year.

Can my Tesla charge while you replace the windshield?

Yes. Our Phoenix shop and Mesa shop both have Tesla chargers, so when you bring your Tesla in, it can charge while we work.
