Know your glass
Lexus windshields are made to keep the cabin quiet and cool, and on newer models they hold the safety camera too. The same model can have several versions, so we confirm yours by VIN.
Lexus uses acoustic laminated glass on many models to keep road and wind noise out of the cabin. The replacement should match.
Many models use glass that cuts heat and UV, which matters a lot in Arizona.
Select models project speed and navigation onto the windshield and need HUD-specific glass.
The Lexus Safety System+ camera mounts to the glass, and select models have a rain sensor and heated wiper area.
Lexus Safety System+
Lexus Safety System+ is standard on most newer Lexus models. Its forward camera sits at the top of the windshield behind the rearview mirror and works with radar at the front of the vehicle.
Lexus, like Toyota, requires the front camera to be recalibrated after a windshield replacement. A small change in where the camera points can affect how it reads lanes and distance.
Lexus camera recalibration is usually done with targets in our shop. Our technicians run a pre-scan, calibrate with Autel equipment and run a post-scan before you leave.

Part of what makes a Lexus feel like a Lexus is how quiet it is inside. Acoustic windshield glass has a sound-damping layer between its two sheets of glass. Replace it with ordinary glass and you can hear the difference on the freeway.
Many Lexus windshields also cut heat and UV, a real difference under the Arizona sun. We match the glass your Lexus came with, and if you'd like more heat rejection, ask about adding windshield tint.

Often, yes. If the chip on your Lexus is no bigger than a quarter, we can usually repair it in our shop: $79 for the first chip and $30 for each additional chip. Chip repairs are in-shop only.
