What makes Kia windshields different?

The same Kia model can have several windshield versions depending on trim and year. We confirm yours by VIN before ordering.

Front view camera
Drive Wise uses a camera mounted to the glass behind the mirror. The bracket and viewing area have to match your Kia.
Rain sensor
Select trims have rain-sensing wipers that read through the glass.
Acoustic glass
Many upper trims and Kia's EVs use acoustic glass to keep the cabin quiet.
Head-up display
Select upper trims have a head-up display and need HUD-specific glass.

Kia Drive Wise

Kia Drive Wise and your windshield

Kia Drive Wise is Kia's group of driver-assistance features, standard on most newer Kias. The front view camera sits at the top of the windshield behind the rearview mirror, and on many models it works with a front radar.

After a windshield replacement, the camera has to be recalibrated so Drive Wise reads lanes, vehicles and pedestrians correctly.

Depending on the model, a Kia camera is recalibrated with targets in our shop or on a road drive. Our technicians run a pre-scan, calibrate with Autel equipment and run a post-scan before you leave.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist
Warns you and can brake if a collision with a vehicle or pedestrian ahead is likely.
Lane Keeping Assist
Helps steer you back if you start to drift out of your lane.
Lane Following Assist
Helps keep you centered in the lane.
Smart Cruise Control
Keeps a set distance from the vehicle ahead, on select models down to a stop.
Highway Driving Assist
On select models, combines cruise and lane centering on the highway.
High Beam Assist
Switches the high beams on and off for you.

Insurance

Does insurance cover a Kia windshield?

If you have comprehensive coverage, your Kia windshield replacement may be covered, minus your deductible. When recalibration is required, it's normally part of the same claim.

We set up a three-way call with your insurance company and help you file the claim. Paying out of pocket? You'll get a clear quote that includes the glass and the recalibration.

Does my Kia need camera recalibration after a windshield replacement?

Yes, if it has Kia Drive Wise features that use the front camera. We recalibrate it in house and confirm it with a post-scan.

Do you replace Telluride and EV6 windshields?

Yes. We replace windshields on the Telluride, EV6, EV9 and every other Kia, and recalibrate the camera afterward.

How do I know if my Kia has a windshield camera?

Look for a camera housing at the top of the windshield behind the mirror. Send us your VIN and we'll confirm.

Can I get mobile windshield replacement for my Kia?

Yes, at your home or office with covered parking. If your Kia needs a static calibration with targets, that part is done in our shop; we'll plan it with you when you book.

Can you repair a chip instead of replacing the windshield?

Often, yes. If the chip on your Kia is no bigger than a quarter, we can usually repair it in our shop: $79 for the first chip and $30 for each additional chip. Chip repairs are in-shop only.

Is there a warranty on my new Kia windshield?

Yes. Every windshield we install comes with our lifetime warranty on parts and workmanship.
