What makes Porsche windshields different?

From a classic 911 to a Taycan, Porsche windshields vary a lot. Newer models add cameras, sensors and coatings, so we confirm the exact glass for your car by VIN.

Tight tolerances
Porsche trim and moldings fit precisely around the glass. Removing and refitting them without damage takes experience.
Front camera
Newer Porsches with lane keep assist and adaptive cruise use a camera mounted to the glass behind the mirror.
Head-up display
Select newer models, including the Cayenne, Panamera, Macan and Taycan, offer a head-up display that needs HUD-specific glass.
Acoustic & heated glass
Select models use acoustic glass for a quieter cabin, and some offer a heated windshield.

Porsche driver assistance and your windshield

Many newer Porsches have Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control and traffic sign recognition, and some offer Porsche InnoDrive. On equipped cars, the front camera sits at the top of the windshield behind the rearview mirror.

After a windshield replacement, that camera has to be recalibrated so these features see the road correctly.

Depending on the model, a Porsche camera is recalibrated with targets in our shop or on a road drive. Our technicians run a pre-scan, calibrate with Autel equipment and run a post-scan before you leave.

We only install aftermarket glass that's compatible with your camera and features, and every windshield, OEM or aftermarket, is checked on our inspection stand, under high-intensity lighting, before it goes on your car.

Insurance

Does insurance cover a Porsche windshield?

If you have comprehensive coverage, your Porsche windshield replacement may be covered, minus your deductible. When recalibration is required, it's normally part of the same claim.

We set up a three-way call with your insurance company and help you file the claim. Paying out of pocket? You'll get a clear quote that includes the glass and the recalibration.

Does my Porsche need camera recalibration after a windshield replacement?

If it has a front camera for lane keep assist or adaptive cruise, yes. We recalibrate it in house and confirm it with a post-scan.

Do you replace windshields on classic Porsches?

Yes. We replace windshields on classic and current Porsches and take care with the original trim and moldings.

Can you replace a Porsche windshield with a head-up display?

Yes. We order HUD-specific glass for Porsches with a head-up display.

Can you replace my Porsche windshield at my home?

In some cases, yes, with covered parking. It depends on the model and whether the camera needs a calibration that has to be done in our shop. Tell us your Porsche when you book and we'll let you know.

Can you repair a chip instead of replacing the windshield?

Often, yes. If the chip on your Porsche is no bigger than a quarter, we can usually repair it in our shop: $79 for the first chip and $30 for each additional chip. Chip repairs are in-shop only.

Is there a warranty on my new Porsche windshield?

Yes. Every windshield we install comes with our lifetime warranty on parts and workmanship.
