Tesla windshield chip repair
Fix the chip before it becomes a new Tesla windshield
A rock chip in your Tesla windshield doesn't have to mean a new windshield, a glass order and a camera calibration. Blue Chip Auto Glass repairs Tesla windshield chips at our Phoenix shop and Mesa shop. We inject clear resin into the break and cure it with UV light, which restores the glass's strength and stops the damage from spreading.
Tesla chip repair is $79 for the first chip and $30 for each additional chip on the same visit. Your forward cameras stay right where they are, so there's nothing to recalibrate. Walk in at our Phoenix shop on Bell Road, or book an appointment at our Mesa shop.

Identify your damage
What kind of chip do you have?
Most rock chips fall into one of these types. If a U.S. quarter covers all of it, it can usually be repaired.
RepairableBullseye
A round, dark circle where the outer layer of glass broke away. Usually repairable.
RepairableStar break
Small cracks spreading out from the impact point. Repairable when a quarter covers all of it.
RepairableCombination break
A bullseye with cracks coming off it. Usually repairable if it's smaller than a quarter.
RepairableHalf-moon
A partial bullseye, shaped like a half circle. Usually repairable.
MaybeShort crack
We generally repair chips no larger than a quarter, so most cracks need a new windshield. Send us a photo and we'll take a look.
Needs replacementLong crack
A crack longer than a dollar bill has usually spread too far to repair. Time for a new windshield.

A chip repair, up close
The repair bridge sits on the glass with suction cups, centered over the chip. The injector seals over the break, pulls the air out and pushes clear resin into every crack, then the resin is cured with UV light.

What to expect
What a chip repair does, honestly
Stabilizes the damage
The main goal: resin fills the break and bonds the glass, helping stop the chip from spreading and restoring some of its strength.
Saves you money
No expensive windshield, labor or recalibration cost.
Looks better, usually
Sometimes the chip almost disappears. Other times a small mark remains. Cosmetic improvement is a bonus, not a guarantee.
A small risk, explained up front
A chip is already weakened glass, and it can occasionally spread during the repair. We take precautions and explain this before we start.
Before your repair
Do this now so it doesn't spread
Arizona is hard on chipped windshields. Big temperature swings and hot glass turn chips into cracks fast.
- 1
Cover it with clear tape
Keeps dirt and water out of the break, which helps the repair come out clearer.
- 2
Park in the shade
Arizona sun heats the glass fast, and heat is what makes a chip crack and spread.
- 3
Go easy on the AC and defrost
Don't blast hot or cold air straight at the windshield. Sudden temperature changes spread chips.
- 4
Skip the car wash
High-pressure water and soap can push into the break and make it spread.
- 5
Don't slam the doors
The shock travels through the glass and can turn a chip into a crack.
- 6
Get it fixed in a few days
The sooner we repair it, the better it looks and the less likely it spreads.

When it's past a repair
Too big for a chip repair?
Damage like this, a large impact with cracks running across the glass, can't be repaired. Your Tesla needs a new windshield. We keep OEM Tesla windshields in stock, set them with premium urethane and calibrate the cameras before you drive away, at our Phoenix shop or Mesa shop, or at your home (covered parking required).
Why Blue Chip
Got a chip in your Tesla? Get it repaired with Blue Chip.
Tesla glass specialists
Our technicians work on Teslas every day, work for Blue Chip (not as subcontractors), and use Delta Kits and GlasWeld repair systems. A bad repair can make the damage worse and keep another shop from fixing it.
$79 first chip, $30 each after
One simple price for any Tesla: Model 3, Model Y, Model S, Model X or Cybertruck.
Your cameras stay untouched
A chip repair doesn't move the camera assembly behind the windshield, so there's no calibration and no waiting on Autopilot.
Charge while you wait
Our Phoenix shop and Mesa shop both have Tesla chargers.
Repair warranty
If a repair ever fails, we credit what you paid for it toward a new windshield, for as long as you own the vehicle.
Free chip repairs for a year
Get your Tesla windshield replaced with us and we'll repair chips on it free for a year, one per shop visit.
Included with your new windshield

for a whole year.
When Blue Chip Auto Glass replaces your windshield, you get one complimentary qualifying chip repair per shop visit for the first year.
Instead of a one-time cash-back offer, we help you protect the new windshield you just paid for.
One complimentary chip repair per shop visit during the first year after a Blue Chip windshield replacement, with unlimited qualifying visits. Chips must be repairable; not every chip can be repaired.
How much is Tesla windshield chip repair?
$79 for the first chip and $30 for each additional chip on the same visit, for any Tesla model.
Can you repair a chip on my Tesla at my house?
No. Chip repairs are done in our shops only. Walk in at our Phoenix shop on Bell Road, or call to book at our Mesa shop.
Will a chip repair affect Autopilot or my cameras?
No. A chip repair doesn't remove the windshield or move the camera assembly, so no calibration is needed afterward.
How long does a Tesla chip repair take?
Most chip repairs take less than 30 minutes, and you can drive away right after. Your Tesla can charge while you wait.
Will insurance pay for my Tesla chip repair?
Many insurance companies cover chip repairs, and many waive the deductible because a repair saves them a replacement. We'll check your coverage with you.
How large of a chip can you repair?
We generally repair chips no larger than the size of a quarter, as long as the damage meets our other repairability criteria. Larger damage and most cracks need a new windshield.
Will the chip disappear completely?
Every chip is different. Sometimes the damage becomes virtually invisible; other times a small mark remains. The main purpose of a repair is to stabilize the damage and help keep it from spreading.
What if the chip has already turned into a crack?
Then your Tesla needs a new windshield. We keep OEM Tesla glass in stock and calibrate the cameras afterward.
