What goes into a quality windshield replacement

The glass

OEM or quality aftermarket: you choose what goes into your vehicle.

  • OEM glass is made by or for your vehicle's manufacturer to match the original.
  • Quality aftermarket glass meets the same federal safety standards and usually costs less. Quality varies by brand, so we use manufacturers we trust.
  • On insurance jobs, we request OEM or dealer glass when your vehicle requires it or when you ask for it.

Not all glass is created equal

The urethane

The adhesive holds your windshield in place, including in an accident.

  • We use premium urethanes from Sika and Dow, including Sika Mach 30 and Dow Express 30.
  • Every urethane has a minimum safe drive-away time, and lower-grade adhesives can take much longer to cure.
  • We follow the manufacturer's safe drive-away time before you leave.

Camera recalibration

Your windshield has cameras behind it.

  • Why it matters

    Many modern vehicles have cameras behind the windshield for lane keeping, automatic braking and adaptive cruise. After a new windshield, those cameras may need to be recalibrated.

  • Done in house

    When your vehicle requires recalibration, we perform it ourselves, so you don't need a separate dealer visit.

  • Static, dynamic or dual

    The method depends on your vehicle manufacturer's requirements. Static setups are done in our shop; some dynamic procedures can be done on a mobile job, depending on the vehicle and the location. Teslas can get any calibration mobile.

How much does windshield replacement cost in Phoenix?

It depends on your vehicle, the glass and whether it needs camera calibration. Paying out of pocket, we give you a straight, all-inclusive cash price up front; with comprehensive or full glass coverage, your insurance may cover most or all of it. Call or request a quote with your year, make and model.

Do you offer windshield replacement near me?

Yes. We have a shop in Phoenix and one in Mesa (by appointment only), and our free mobile windshield replacement comes to your home, office or job site anywhere in the Valley (covered parking required).

Will my insurance cover my windshield replacement?

Windshield replacement is usually covered under the comprehensive part of your auto policy. Many Arizona drivers carry full glass coverage, which can mean no deductible. We'll call your insurance company with you to confirm your coverage and start your claim.

Do I have to use the glass shop my insurance company recommends?

No. It's your choice which shop replaces your windshield, and you can choose Blue Chip. We work with all insurance companies.

How long until I can drive my car?

We observe the urethane manufacturer's minimum safe drive-away time before releasing your vehicle. Your technician will let you know when it's safe to drive.

Do you come to me?

Yes. Mobile windshield replacement is available across the Valley at no extra charge, as long as there's adequate covered parking. Teslas can get any calibration mobile; other vehicles that need a static camera calibration are done in our shop. We'll tell you which applies when we quote.

Will my camera and rain sensor work after the replacement?

Yes. We carefully remove and reinstall your camera, mirror and sensors, and recalibrate your forward-facing camera when the manufacturer requires it.

Have a leased vehicle?

We've got you covered. Many leases require OEM parts, so we install OEM glass and any necessary parts from the dealer to make sure your lease is returned correctly. Just let us know it's a lease when you request a quote.

Should I choose OEM or aftermarket glass?

Both meet federal safety standards. OEM matches your original glass exactly; quality aftermarket glass costs less. We'll explain the options for your vehicle when we quote.

What warranty do you offer?

Windshield replacements are covered by our lifetime warranty for as long as you own the vehicle.
