What makes Land Rover windshields different?

Land Rover builds several windshield versions for the same model, and the differences matter. We confirm yours by VIN so the glass matches every feature.

Heated windshield
Many Land Rovers have a heated windshield with fine wires embedded in the glass. The replacement has to be heated too, and wired correctly.
Front camera
Emergency braking, lane keep assist and adaptive cruise use a camera mounted to the glass behind the mirror.
Head-up display
Select Range Rover, Defender and Discovery models have a head-up display and need HUD-specific glass.
Acoustic & solar glass
Many models use acoustic glass for a quiet cabin and solar glass to cut heat.

Land Rover driver assistance and your windshield

Most newer Land Rovers have Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist and traffic sign recognition, and many add Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist. The front camera sits at the top of the windshield behind the rearview mirror.

After a windshield replacement, that camera has to be recalibrated so these systems see the road correctly.

Depending on the model, a Land Rover camera is recalibrated with targets in our shop or on a road drive. Our technicians run a pre-scan, calibrate with Autel equipment and run a post-scan before you leave.

Emergency Braking
Warns you and can brake to help avoid a collision ahead.
Lane Keep Assist
Gently steers you back if you start to drift out of your lane.
Adaptive Cruise Control
Keeps a set distance from the vehicle ahead, with Steering Assist on select models.

Getting a heated windshield right

Many Land Rovers have a heated windshield: ultra-fine wires in the glass that clear frost and fog fast. If it's replaced with unheated glass, the feature stops working, and the wiring connections have to be made correctly for it to heat evenly.

We check your VIN for the heated option, order the matching glass and test the heating after the install.

Insurance

Does insurance cover a Land Rover windshield?

If you have comprehensive coverage, your Land Rover windshield replacement may be covered, minus your deductible. When recalibration is required, it's normally part of the same claim.

We set up a three-way call with your insurance company and help you file the claim. Paying out of pocket? You'll get a clear quote that includes the glass and the recalibration.

Does my Land Rover need camera recalibration after a windshield replacement?

Yes, if it has a front camera for emergency braking or lane keep assist. We recalibrate it in house and confirm it with a post-scan.

Can you replace a heated Range Rover windshield?

Yes. We order the heated version of the glass when your vehicle has it and test the heating after the install.

Do you replace Defender windshields?

Yes. We replace windshields on the new Defender and on older Land Rovers.

Can I get mobile windshield replacement for my Land Rover?

Yes, at your home or office with covered parking. If your Land Rover needs a static calibration with targets, that part is done in our shop; we'll plan it with you when you book.

Can you repair a chip instead of replacing the windshield?

Often, yes. If the chip on your Land Rover is no bigger than a quarter, we can usually repair it in our shop: $79 for the first chip and $30 for each additional chip. Chip repairs are in-shop only.

Is there a warranty on my new Land Rover windshield?

Yes. Every windshield we install comes with our lifetime warranty on parts and workmanship.
